HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (December 12, 2005) – Susan Truesdale, a former NBC affiliate broadcaster and business manager/controller, has been appointed to KOCE-TV as its chief financial officer (CFO). The announcement was made by Mel Rogers, president and general manger of KOCE-TV. “Ms. Truesdale’s extensive background in broadcast television and finance will truly be an asset as we continue to serve the Orange County community with educational, cultural and enriching programs on KOCE,” said Rogers. “Her incredible expertise and leadership will also play a vital role as she leads the only station that truly serves the Orange County community.” Truesdale, a resident of Huntington Beach who refers to herself as a “broadcaster first, CFO second,” will be one of a handful of female leaders at KOCE. She has played a key role in financial and human resource management within the broadcasting industry for 15 years, starting in radio in Portland, Ore. as the business manager for a variety of AM and FM stations. After 12 years in Portland, Truesdale moved back to Southern California, where she attended UCLA. Her last position was at the NBC affiliate in Palm Desert, where she served as Interim General Manager. During this time, she had the opportunity to increase her knowledge of local news, programming, and technical operations—skills she looks forward to implementing into her work with KOCE. “This is by far the most dynamic time KOCE has ever had,” said Truesdale. “KOCE has the opportunity to be even more valuable to the community with its virtual downtown concept that has been created. I look forward to working on its long tradition of community service, build KOCE further and support the process of becoming a greater PBS station.” ###
