‘ROCK OUR WORLD’ DEMONSTRATES THE POWER
OF GLOBAL TEACHING
First-Ever Innovative Webcam Teaching Project on Local PBS Station
‘Rock Our World’ Debuts December 3rd on KOCE
Where will the new global electronic age citizens come
from? Orange County!
KOCE-TV, PBS from Orange County and Imperial Elementary
School in Orange, demonstrate the power of one teacher and one classroom
to encourage growth and learning by reaching across the globe to connect
five continents, five different time zones, and six countries via
Internet-based video.
On Friday, December 3, from 1:00-2:00 p.m., ROCK
OUR WORLD premieres around the world. KOCE viewers will see the
months-in-the-making culmination of a collaborative international
learning project of music, video and sharing, LIVE, via computer webcams
and Apple iSights. American students in Carol Anne McGuire’s
class at Imperial Elementary will join other students in New Zealand,
Peru, Belgium, Japan and Australia for a unique learning experience
that records how the students work together, share surprises, and,
for the first time, see the results of their collaborative project.
ROCK OUR WORLD is being assembled in Canada
via the Internet for this premiere presentation to the world via KOCE-TV.
