TO STATION MANAGER OF KOCE-TV HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF. (May 21, 2007) – KOCE-TV announced today the promotion of Ed Miskevich as the new station manager, to support its expanding programming and service offerings. Miskevich was promoted from assistant station manager, a role he previously occupied since 2001, to station manager and chief operating officer. The announcement was made by Mel Rogers, president and general manager of the station. “Ed has brought tremendous knowledge and insight gleaned from throughout his impressive career to KOCE-TV,” said Rogers. “He has undoubtedly become an integral part of the successful operation of the station.” For more than 35 years, KOCE-TV has been an integral part of Orange County’s rich history, touching virtually every aspect of the local community and earning the ranking as seventh-most watched PBS station in the nation. As station manager, Miskevich is responsible for all programming, production and engineering at the station. He will also spearhead the strategic direction and operational management of KOCE-TV. Additionally, his primary goal is to oversee KOCE-TV’s production of quality programming and support the station’s on-air fundraising efforts, which have historically grown in revenue each year. “The PBS brand is one of the most trusted sources for broadcast information,” noted Miskevich. “Through my new role, I will continue to develop the quality programming that offers Orange County and surrounding areas the blend of educational, cultural, health and local information they have come to expect.” With more than 25 years of experience in public broadcasting, Miskevich has served as executive producer of numerous public affairs series, record-breaking on-air pledge drives, and other informational and cultural specials and documentaries. Prior to becoming station manager, Miskevich was involved in the creation of KOCE-TV’s “Real Orange,” the only nightly broadcast television news program for and about Orange County, and “Inside OC,” KOCE-TV’s weekly news analysis program. Miskevich has received several prestigious awards in recognition for his work produced for KOCE-TV, including two Los Angeles Emmy Awards, two Golden Mike Awards, and eight Orange County Bar Association media awards. His career in public television began at WNET-TV in New York City, where he worked in the office of "The MacNeil/Lehrer Report." Miskevich has worked in public broadcasting since graduating from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, with a bachelor’s degree in Semiotics, majoring in broadcast journalism.
