HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF. (January 25, 2007) – KOCE-TV President and General Manager Mel Rogers has announced the appointment of Stacey Atchley as the station’s new director of major giving. Atchley comes to KOCE-TV with extensive experience working with non-profits in donor relations, as well as great success in creating and implementing fundraising programs that focus on building relationships. “Ms. Atchley’s track record of success combined with her passion for non-profits will no doubt be an asset to KOCE-TV as it continues to serve the Orange County community with educational, cultural and enriching programs,” said Rogers. “Her expertise will play a vital role in engaging KOCE-TV’s many friends to develop the major gift support that is so critical to the station’s ongoing success.” As director of major giving and the key point of contact at KOCE-TV for potential donors, Atchley will manage individual gifts; cultivate relationships with existing and potential donors; oversee corporate underwriting and grants; and work to broaden the station’s base of support. In 2007 Atchley will develop several programs designed to give existing and new donors more avenues to be involved with KOCE-TV. These include an annual giving program – the “Signal Society,” for the station’s most generous supporters; as well as a planned giving program, which provides new ways to bestow a gift to KOCE-TV through a will or trust. “I have a passion for non-profit institutions like KOCE-TV that work for the greater good of the community, and I truly believe the station is one of Southern California’s most important assets,” said Atchley. “As an Orange County native, and long-time viewer of KOCE-TV, I am delighted to be part of an organization with such an outstanding reputation for delivering quality programming and educational outreach to our community.” Atchley joins the KOCE staff after four years as major gifts officer at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, Calif. where she managed a successful fundraising program for individual donors. Prior to her tenure there, Ms. Atchley directed membership, public relations and publications at the University Art Museum at California State University, Long Beach, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. Her academic background is in art history and museum studies, and she is also trained in non-profit management and graphic design. A member of the Los Angeles and Orange County chapters of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Atchley currently resides in Long Beach, Calif.
