INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Our Promotion & Fundraising Departments are Seeking Interns on an On-Going Basis. 

Specifically, we can use a web intern, to assist our art director and marketing manager with on-going design and refinement of our web presence.  We are always upgrading and making changes, and there's frankly a great deal to do.  Fresh eyes and sharp web skills would benefit us and give the intern some good work to put in his/her portfolio.

We can also use a sales/marketing intern.  This person will work with our Director of Corporate Support on prospect research, creation of sales packages and materials, prospecting, and will go on sales calls with our reps when and where appropriate.  Again, good hands-on experience for someone interested in broadcast sales or fundraising.

We are also building a "street team."  These individuals will assist our staff at station/community events, providing material and information on the station, interacting with the public, collecting registrations and even helping with the planning and execution of station events.

We can be flexible on work hours up to a point.  While these are unpaid internships, we can provide whatever record-keeping and evaluations are necessary for grading purposes.  These will be busy, meaningful positions for qualified and quality students.

The following conditions apply:

1. The training, although it may include actual operation of station facilities, is similar to vocational training.
2. The training is for the benefit of the Intern.
3. The student does not displace regular employees, but works under their close supervision.
4. The student is not entitled to a job at the conclusion of the internship.
5. The student does not receive employee benefits.
6. The training is general, so as to qualify the student to work in any similar station.
