Discovery Education

KOCE Classroom, in partnership with Discovery Education, offers teachers and students access to the most comprehensive video on-demand and online teaching resources available today!

Membership to KOCE Classroom also includes streaming and download rights for Discovery Education Streaming Video, an online resource that includes over 150,000 standards based videos, still images, speeches, articles, lesson plans and other resources to supplement instruction in the classroom.

Mission US is a brand new multimedia project, designed to improve the understanding of American history for 5th ñ8th grade students, featuring free interactive adventure games set throughout U.S. history.

California Student Media Festival

The California Student Media Festival, the nationís oldest student film festival, strongly encourages project-based learning and meaningful student creations in media and exists to acknowledge and reward successful classroom work. Students in grades K-12 can enter for free.

PBS TeacherLine

KOCE is proud to partner with PBS TeacherLineÆ to provide Orange County educators standards based, high quality professional development and online tools.

PBS KIDS GO! Writer's Contest

Since the only thing better than reading a good story is writing one, KOCE looks for studentís original stories each spring. Open to kids in grades K-3, each entry must be an original work ñ written and illustrated by the entrant.

KOCE Classroom provides free professional development to schools:

  • Digital Storytelling
  • Using Media in the Classroom
  • Copyright and Fair Use
  • Web 2.0 tools

KOCE broadcasts high quality educational programming from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday through the school year. This allows teachers who have access to cable television to tape a variety of special series and programs off-air. KOCE Classroom also schedules a variety of live and interactive programs that offer students and teachers the opportunity to participate in "real-time" events.

Membership to KOCE Classroom also includes streaming and download right s for Discovery Education Streaming Video, an online resource that includes over 5,000 standards based videos, thousands of still images, speeches, articles, lesson plans and other resources to supplement instruction in the classroom.
